about the library – Staff

  Clif – Library Director

BS, The Citadel / MLIS, University of South Carolina

I came to Horry County from the Greenville Library System January of 2009. I have 16 years experience as a librarian. I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 small children. I live near the beach and I dream of being the captain of my own boat one day. I have done extensive research on Flannery O’Conner and I enjoy reading South Carolina history, biographies, espionage and other thrillers.

  Jody – Automation Librarian

MLIS, University of South Carolina, BS, USC

After graduating from college I didn’t know what to do. A professor of mine suggested that I go to graduate school for “Library and Information Science”. After doing a little research I took his advice and have never regretted it. I came to the Horry County Library System in the summer of 1999. Most people don’t realize that there’s a lot more to libraries than just books. Come see for yourself!

  Jackie – IT Coordinator

BS Computer Science, Limestone College / AS Electronic Engineering, HGTC

I have been a library lover for years so when an IT position opened up I jumped right in! I’ve been here since July 2004 and I strive to make technology accessible and safe for all ages that visit our libraries. I maintain all the computers, servers, wireless, website & Internet goodies! When I’m not delving into something deliciously technical at the libraries, you can usually find me busily being the mom of my wonderful (yet mischievous) brood of 3 girls!

  Ronda – Library Assistant

I joined the library system in June 2001 as a Library Page at Socastee. About nine months later, I became a Library Assistant at Socastee where I happily checked out and recommended books to people whether they needed the recommendation or not. In September of 2006, I joined the Technical Services staff, and they must like me because I am still here. I have two children who I love dearly, even though one is a teenager. I have lived in Conway my entire life – that is until I met one of those “city slickers” and moved to the big city of North Myrtle Beach! I miss Conway, especially the big live oaks in the middle of the street, but I also like hearing the ocean from my back door. In my spare time, I like reading (mostly memoirs and southern fiction), eating, hanging with Jim and the kids, and road trips.
