The Library informs, empowers, and transforms all persons in our community…
Excellent libraries across America exist through public funding, but it is private gifts that allow them to flourish. Tax revenues support basic operations of the Horry County Memorial Library system. However, coping with society’s wealth of information and today’s ever changing technology is a difficult challenge. To meet the needs of the community and the opportunities of tomorrow, the Horry County Memorial Library system established the Endowment Fund to receive and administer contributions to and for the benefit of the library and the people of Horry County. Just as a library can make a difference in the life of an individual, your gift to the Endowment can make a difference in the buildings, services, collections, and opportunities provided by your local library. The Library’s Endowment Fund helps ensure future generations of the same high standards and quality library services available today. Special funds have been established to foster growth within specific areas of the library system.
Rooms or departments of the nine branches in the Horry County Memorial Library system are available to be named in honor or in memory of individuals, businesses, or corporations at levels of $10,000 and higher. Gifts can be pledged over more than one year in multiple payments. Donors at this level become Benefactors Society members and their names will be inscribed on plaques in the library.
Memorials and Honorariums
Donations to the Endowment can also be made to honor or remember a loved one. The library will place a name plate in the book of your or the library’s choice with any donation to the Endowment.
